Sabela and the Logo
The Xhosa people are concentrated mainly in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa . Their language is isiXhosa or Xhosa, which is one of the eleven official languages of South Africa . Sabela is a Xhosa word, meaning “respond to a call”. The African elephant is known for the way it protects its young. The stylized logo symbolizes an adult elephant and by inference, the instinct to “respond to a call”.
