About Us

He has a strong project management record with many successful implementations. His investigative nature and determination make him particularly successful at Root Cause Analysis and Data Cleansing.
Photography
Duncan enjoyed drawing and painting from an early age. But without any real training he became frustrated with the work he produced, never able to put on paper or canvas what he visualized. He started taking photographs in high school and continued through college. These were just snapshots of family and friends with never a thought of photography as a creative outlet. Then in his first year out of college while working in Johannesburg, South Africa, he saw an newspaper leading him to a demonstration on black & white darkroom work. The world of darkroom magic was revealed and he was hooked! Here was the creative outlet he had been searching for.
Soon afterwards he joined the Camera Club of Johannesburg. Under the wonderful mentoring of some of the more experienced members his interest and skills in b&w photography blossomed. After relocating to East London, South Africa he joined the East London Photographic Society and started working in the medium of color slides. He also developed a special interest in telling stories with a set of pictures, both in print and as slide shows set to music. Some of these have been re-engineered as digital videos.
He learned a great deal about photography and design over many years of reading books, magazines and articles, photographic club lectures and workshops, art classes, and events like PSSA Conventions and Great American Photography Workshops. In turn, he has written numerous papers, articles and columns on photography and other technical subjects.
He is grateful to his mentors from the early days, the many friends met along the way, and the mentoree’s he’s been able to guide in the right direction. But photography is a rapidly changing field, and so the reading, talking, listening, experimenting and practicing continues.
Web Design
Creating this web site was a very satisfying project, allowing the rare opportunity to combine skills from photography, visual design, writing and program analysis, design and development.
